ABOUT THE ROLE
Norton Gold Fields is seeking an Underground Mine Surveyor to join our new underground mine c. This project is a convenient 30-minute drive from Kalgoorlie.
The Underground Mine Surveyor will be conducting all mine survey activities so as to support the aims detailed in the mine plan. With a focus directed towards the collection and accurate interpretation of spatial data which is integrated into the mine planning and reporting process.
KEY DUTIES AND TASKS
- Conduct surveys of all underground openings and ongoing maintenance of the underground void model.
- Measuring total volume of material moved.
- Measuring underground excavations.
- Installing lines and grades in development headings and stopes.
- Pegging out areas to be mined.
- Surveying mine configuration; and locating blast and exploration drill holes.
- Maintaining up to date data entry records and ensure data is available when required.
- Provide all relevant survey data to mine production/ management personnel in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
- Produce plans as and when required including development memos, traffic management plans, emergency plans, statutory mine plans.
- Work safely and contribute to safety systems of underground operations.
- Work closely with all mine personnel to aid in the effective running of an underground operation.
- Ensure the cleaning and maintenance of all survey equipment is done on a regular basis.
- Any other duties as required.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Essential)
- Surveyor Grade 1 Authorisation (Highly Desirable)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
WORK KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum 2years’ survey experience in underground mine setting.
- Experienced with laser mark ups.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Able to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to engage team and others to solve problems, develop solutions and get things done.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships required to achieve role purpose.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Experience with Surpac mining software
- Experience with MPX mining software
- Experience with GPS tools
- Competent with demonstrated skills in spreadsheet and presentation applications, Word processing and database applications.
