**The Opportunity: Section Executive, Major Projects, Water**
Due to the continued success and projected growth of our Australian operations, our Water business is seeking to expand our leadership team and are looking to recruit a Major Projects Executive to manage and expand our projects team nationally with a key focus on D&C; water projects.
As the key point of contact for WSP engagement on major water projects, you will be accountable to plan, develop and lead efficient and effective Projects. You will play a pivotal role in client relationship development, work winning and pursuit management.
As this is a national role, you will ideally be Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane based.
**Role responsibilities include**:
- Provide high-quality technical vision, innovation and leadership to deliver quality service to meet key water client expectations.
- Support the growth and development of the sales and business development opportunities in the local and national water market.
- Be accountable for the commercial, quality and WHS outcomes on the project.
- Be accountable for business and project delivery including the implementation of appropriate project and risk management procedures.
- Promote WSP values and ensure a safe working workplace is maintained.
- Partner and collaborate with Water Client Directors and other business units to drive and deliver business and project outcomes
- Working closely with the Director of Water and State-based Water Executives, you will be accountable for the development of D&C; project capabilities and growing the project delivery team nationally
**Ideal capabilities and experience include**:
- Professional Engineering qualification or equivalent with a minimum of 15+ years' experience achieving industry chartered/accreditation status and previous/current consultancy experience
- Experience in the leadership and delivery of major water projects, preferably including design management
- Demonstrated competence and experience in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of water projects and in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size
- Commercial acumen to understand project performance and optimise financial outcomes
- Experience with design consultancy processes for pursuing bids, writing successful proposals and contributing to strategic business initiatives
- Proven ability to lead and improve D&C; project capabilities with strong relationships across a variety of major contractors nationally
- Experienced in developing and maintaining client relationships and internal networks with key colleagues.
- Experience in developing and managing a team, at local or national scale, including virtual and remote employees
- Proven ability in building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the organisation
