* DBA is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server/Oracle relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), ensuring their availability, integrity, and performance. Must have knowledge of HA Replication and Cluster Services.
* What Database Administrator - MMBL does?
o Implement and administer HA/DR solutions such as Always on, Availability Groups, clustering,RAC, and log shipping to ensure maximum uptime and data integrity. Implement robust user access controls, roles, and permissions to restrict access to sensitive data.
o • Must have knowledge of Database Replication Techniques (Mirroring, Always on,Dataguard).
o • Monitor database performance using tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Profiler,Enterprise Manager to identify bottlenecks, optimize slow-running queries and indexes, and perform capacity planning. Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, and apply patches and updates as needed.
o • Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL) to automate routine administrative tasks and improve efficiency.
o • Must have knowledge of Database Patching, Backup and Recovery Techniques.
o • Create, change, and improve SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans.
* What are we looking for and what does it require to be Database Administrator - MMBL?
o o Key Skills: Proficiency with database management systems (e.g, SQL Server 2012, SQL Server 2016, SQL Server 2022) and must have database security tools. In-depth understanding of encryption, data masking, access control and other security concepts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve database performance issues. Familiarity with SQL Server tools (SSMS, SQL Profiler). Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options.
o Certifications such Azure Database Administrator Associate, OCA,OCP are often preferred.
o A Bachelor's/Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
o •Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in Database administration in large scale environment.
