We are partnering with a contemporary and progressive accounting firm (Our Client) to find a skilled bookkeeper to manage and support their diverse client base. This is an excellent opportunity to be a key hands-on resource, ensuring clients’ financial records are accurate and up-to-date, allowing them to focus on their core business.
The Opportunity
Our Client is committed to providing exceptional service across compliance and advisory. This Bookkeeper role is critical to the smooth running of client accounts, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and leveraging technology. You will work closely with the accounting team and clients, helping them maintain clean and effective financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Bookkeeping: Manage full-function bookkeeping, including processing accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R), bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Payroll Management: Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll, including superannuation calculations and Single Touch Payroll (STP) compliance.
- Statutory Compliance: Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Software Management: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot various cloud accounting platforms, ensuring clients are using the technology effectively.
- Client Support: Provide direct support and training to clients regarding their accounting software and general bookkeeping processes.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: Minimum of 3+ years' hands-on bookkeeping experience, preferably within a Public Practice environment or managing complex SME clients.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in cloud accounting software, particularly Xero and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Certification: Registered BAS Agent qualification is highly desirable, or you must be eligible to obtain one.
- Tax Knowledge: Solid understanding of Australian GST, Payroll, and Superannuation compliance rules.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and professional communication abilities for managing client relationships.
