Student Support Specialist
This role is designed to provide comprehensive support to students in need, ensuring their overall wellbeing and academic success.
The successful candidate will possess a relevant degree and experience in mental health services, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively with students, staff and external partners to create a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough health assessments and develop tailored support plans for students in distress
* Provide education and resources to enhance mental wellbeing among students, staff and the broader university community
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement strategies promoting student wellbeing and engagement
* Build and maintain relationships with external partners to ensure access to specialist mental health services
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Relevant degree in a field such as psychology, social work or counselling
* Experience working in mental health services, preferably in an educational setting
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
