Public Engagement Specialist
This role involves providing strategic community and stakeholder management services to technical and professional staff for community outreach, media relations, issues management, public affairs, and stakeholder relationship management.
About the Position:
* Coordinate community engagement activities for projects
* Develop strategies for stakeholder and issue management and consult with various interest groups
* Offer communication advice and support to project teams in areas of community engagement and communication strategies
* Manage risk assessment, issues management, and media relations using appropriate communication tools
Main Responsibilities:
* Prepare and manage communications materials, including researching and writing press releases, ministerial briefings, newsletters, web inquiries, flyers, display materials, speech notes
* Manage and coordinate executive correspondence for projects
* Plan and manage key communication events such as displays, expos, career markets, road commissioning's, launches, media opportunities, and other events
The ideal candidate will have a degree in communications, public relations, or marketing, experience in dealing with difficult stakeholders and critical conversations, social media competency, and IAP2 or equivalent training in community engagement and public participation.
