Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation (MHAC) is a not-for-profit Aboriginal Corporation incorporated under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 administered by the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC). MHAC operates across East Arnhem Land and provides comprehensive primary health care services with an increasing focus on preventative health measures as well as a NDIS program and community harmony programs that focus on addressing domestic violence.
About the Role
EnablethedeliveryofIndigenousprimaryhealthcareandrelatedprogramsbyparticipatingasateam member maintaining the financial services of Miwatj Health. This role will be responsible for delivering high‐quality financial management support, including preparing internal reports, coordinating budgets and forecasts, and managing grant financials and acquittals. You will oversee quarterly underspend/overspend reviews, support annual processes such as insurance renewals and Fringe Benefit Tax returns, and track action items from monthly program meetings. The position also contributes to key projects for Senior Leadership and provides coverage across finance functions as needed.
This is a full time and fixed term contract until 30 th June 2026. Based in Darwin.

About You
* AnunderstandingofandcommitmenttoAboriginalCommunityControlandself- determination.
* AnunderstandingoftheissuesfacedbyYolngupeoplelivinginremote settings.
* Demonstrated local accounting experience (a minimum of four years in Australia) with proven ability to analyse general ledger data and provide strategic insights to the management team .
* CA/CPA or working towards professional qualifications.
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a cross-cultural environment.
* Excellent communication with a focus on customer service.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with finance systems and Microsoft Office software, particularly MS Word, Excel & Outlook.
* Experience with ERP Systems.
