We are seeking a Materials Specialist – Turbomachinery to join our Perth‐based team on a 12‐month fixed‐term employee contract. This role plays a key part in ensuring critical turbomachinery assets are supported with the right materials, tooling, and spares to enable safe, reliable, and timely maintenance execution.
About the Role
The Materials Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the flow of materials, spare parts, and special tooling required to support turbomachinery maintenance campaigns.
The role supports a range of high‐value rotating equipment, including compressors, turbines, high‐speed rotating equipment, and associated systems, ensuring maximum reliability and availability through effective materials planning and control.
You will work closely with campaign maintenance planners, rotating equipment specialists, procurement, OEMs, and warehouse teams to forecast requirements, manage long‐lead and high‐specification components, and maintain accurate inventory control. The role also supports the development and maintenance of task lists and Bills of Material (BOMs) for ILNG turbomachinery packages.
Domestic travel is required, including visits to onshore and offshore facilities (CPF and FPSO).
Key responsibilities
* Develop and maintain structured, scope‐based BOMs covering materials, contingency items, special tooling, and consumables to support effective campaign planning.
* Coordinate end‐to‐end material requirements, including expediting, delivery tracking, staging, issuing, returns, and reconciliation.
* Manage interfaces with procurement, warehouse teams, and vendors to ensure clear communication, delivery accountability, and timely supply.
* Oversee special tooling availability and tracking, working with internal tooling teams to resolve discrepancies and post‐job reconciliation.
* Manage contingency components, including CVI inspections, logistics coordination, NDT bearing movements, and repair return schedules.
* Support inventory accuracy improvements, including appropriate handling of surplus or unused materials.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of turbomachinery task lists within CMMS systems.
What we're looking for
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and career paths. You'll be a strong fit for this role if you bring a combination of technical capability, coordination experience, and a collaborative approach.

* Turbomachinery or rotating equipment materials, spares, and special tooling coordination
* Development and maintenance of BOMs and task lists for maintenance or campaign planning
* Use of CMMS systems (such as SAP) for material tracking, expediting, and inventory control
* Supplier, OEM, or service contract coordination
* Warehousing and inventory management best practice
You'll also bring:

* The ability to manage multiple priorities and plan effectively
* A proactive, solution‐focused mindset
