About The Opportunity
Ulan Coal Mines, an established and high-output underground longwall coal mining operation in the western coalfields of NSW, is currently seeking a qualified Undermanager (Shift Supervisor) to join their team.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Undermanager is responsible for ensuring shift production and maintenance activities are undertaken safely and in compliance to plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure shift production and maintenance targets are achieved safelySupervise, organise and monitor all on-shift activitiesEnsure statutory responsibilities are fulfilled and the operation complies with legislative requirementsProvide guidance, coaching and assistance to frontline leadersManage employees and uphold site policies e.g. manage absenteeism, conduct incident investigations, action safety mattersCarry out field leadership and maintain a high level of safety at all times
Your Qualifications And Expertise
NSW 2nd Class (Undermanager's) Certificate of CompetencyDiploma Underground Coal Mine Management (Undermanager)Previous Undermanager experienceAdvanced knowledge and understanding of underground coal mining legislationAbility to implement and oversee safe work practices and performance within the businessAct decisively to work in high pressure environments with competing prioriesStrong computer skills – particularly MS Office SuiteExcellent interpersonal, cooperative and facilitation skills
