Title: Conference & Events Director
Position Overview: The Conference & Events Director is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of conferencing and/or events venue(s), ensuring excellence in service and operations while exceeding guest requirements. They aim to improve rapport with existing clients and create new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
1. Take direction from the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Director of Food & Beverage, maintaining a proactive approach.
2. Direct, supervise, and coordinate operational activities within the hotel to ensure smooth and efficient functions.
3. Guarantee departmental compliance with policies, procedures, guidelines, and manuals to ensure safety and profitability.
4. Maintain accurate statistical records and reporting.
5. Control departmental expenses within set targets.
6. Cultivate a sales culture, maximizing up-selling and on-selling techniques.
7. Ensure effective communication within the department and with other departments for event planning and follow-up.
8. Maintain stock levels to ensure all functions run smoothly.
9. Establish and uphold standards for back of house areas focusing on functionality and cleanliness.
10. Conduct site inspections as necessary.
11. Ensure all charges are correctly posted to relevant accounts for functions.
12. Manage hotel assets to protect their long-term value.
13. Identify and optimize opportunities to improve the business.
14. Ensure team members are adequately trained to assist across venues daily.
15. Maintain full knowledge of venue’s computer/IT systems.
16. Supervise and assist colleagues to ensure high productivity and service standards.
17. Support a positive service environment to meet and exceed guest and team member expectations.
18. Proactively resolve issues to prevent complaints.
19. Implement quality control systems, including shift checklists and procedural revisions.
20. Stay updated with venue, hotel, and event information, communicating changes to the team.
21. Report, review, and address incidents, injuries, and hazards with preventative measures.
22. Promote venue properties to guests whenever possible.
23. Act as a brand ambassador for the venue, hotel, and Event Hospitality & Entertainment.
24. Assist other departments and colleagues when needed.
25. Attend all scheduled meetings, training, and development programs.
26. Provide efficient, friendly, and professional customer service to all guests.
27. Respect all guests and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
