ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to provide specialist psychological assessment, treatment, and clinical leadership within Fresh Start's multidisciplinary recovery programme.
Fresh Start welcomes applications from psychologists seeking flexible working arrangements, including full-time, part-time, casual or contract opportunities. Remuneration will be tailored to experience and the nature of the engagement.
This role involves direct clinical service delivery, contribution to clinical governance, and collaborative care planning for clients with complex mental health and addiction-related needs. The Clinical Psychologist will work closely with medical practitioners, counsellors, and allied health staff to support high-quality, safe, and effective clinical outcomes.
Clinical Practice & Care Delivery
* Deliver individual and group psychological interventions using evidence-based approaches, including CBT and trauma-informed therapies
* Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to inform diagnosis, formulation, and treatment planning
* Develop, implement, and review individualised treatment plans for clients with complex and co-occurring conditions
* Provide crisis intervention and psychological support during acute presentations where required
Clinical Leadership & Collaboration
* Contribute to clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team by modelling high standards of professional and ethical practice
* Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, treatment planning, and clinical reviews
* Provide clinical consultation and guidance to counsellors and allied health staff as appropriate
* Liaise with external providers and referral partners to support coordinated client care
Clinical Governance & Risk Management
* Support clinical governance activities, including adherence to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and organisational policies
* Participate in the identification, assessment, and management of clinical risk
* Contribute to the review and continuous improvement of clinical practices, protocols, and service delivery
* Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation and reporting
Professional Development & Quality Improvement
* Maintain AHPRA registration and engage in ongoing professional development and supervision
* Participate in service evaluation, reflective practice, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
* Support a culture of accountability, learning, and excellence within the clinical team
ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced and ethical clinician who brings strong clinical judgement, professionalism, and a collaborative approach to your work.
* Registration with AHPRA as a Clinical Psychologist (or General Psychologist with relevant experience)
* Proven experience providing psychological assessment and treatment for clients with complex mental health presentations
* Strong capability in delivering evidence-based psychological therapies, including CBT and trauma-informed approaches
* Sound clinical risk assessment and management skills
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical environment
* High standards of ethical practice, documentation, and confidentiality
* Experience in addiction, mental health, or related clinical services (highly regarded)
* Willingness to work within and support a Christian faith-based organisation
