The role

This is a 6 month fixed term, part‐time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency.

Role

The School Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial operation of the school. This includes undertaking account and GST coding, reconciling financial records and processing invoices; assisting with month‐end procedures such as transporting receipts to the bank and maintaining data integrity; collating figures for financial planning and budgeting; and managing school assets, including overseeing the administration of out‐of‐hours use of school facilities, coordinating and negotiating maintenance and repairs, and maintaining key registers and security system codes. The School Officer will also support the induction and relief of administrative school support staff by developing induction programmes and materials.

Eligibility

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and/or preparing financial returns.
  • Demonstrated ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
