THE LYMPHOEDEMA LOUNGE & BREAST ONCOLOGY THERAPY

Position Classification: Remedial Massage Therapist | Massage Therapist with Certification in Lymphatic Drainage
Remuneration: Standard industry rates - based on level of experience
Hours Per Week: 15.2 hours to 22.8 hours per week (hours are negotiable)
Overview: The Lymphoedema Lounge, an expanding health centre located on the Redcliffe Peninsula, is looking for a part-time practitioner to work with patients requiring manual lymphatic drainage for management of lymphoedema, lipoedema, and post-surgical recovery. The selected candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, physiotherapist and clinical nurse.
The Lounge is a highly recognised and supportive centre with a valued, compassionate, dedicated and innovative approach to treatment in this area. It maintains a strong collaboration with medical and allied health care teams. The Lounge focus is on service excellence and providing expert level care to our clients.
Ideal Candidates
We are looking for a therapist who:
* Shows a high degree of initiative, reliability and autonomy
* Is respectful, kind and passionate
* Is skilled in developing and maintaining positive relationships within the team, with clients, external stakeholders and referrers
* Has exceptional communication skills both on the phone if needing to liaise with key stakeholders and through written reports to the treating medical team
* Has a good understanding of or interest in the lymphatic system with at least 1 year experience performing manual lymphatic drainage
Our ideal candidate must:
* Be registered with their appropriate representative body
* Have a current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance policy
* Have clinical experience in this field and speciality area of lymphatics

Responsibilities
* You will initially assist in maintaining industry standards through implementation of best practice in the treatment of patients with lymphoedema, lipoedema and chronic swelling disorders, as well as patients recovering from post-operative surgery.
* You will have demonstrated abilities to work independently, to problem solve and to adhere to the ethical boundaries surrounding health work.
* Complete treatment notes in SOAP format and in a timely manner.
* Provide a relaxing and high quality service to all clients.
* You will have sophisticated interpersonal and communication skills.
* You will be able to time-manage.
* You will need to be an empathetic practitioner.
