The Opportunity
Urbis has multiple opportunities for passionate Landscape Architects to join our Design team in Brisbane. We're seeking people that are passionate about shaping cities and places, with a strong interest in landscape, urban design, and placemaking. We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, whether your strengths lie in concept design and visualisation, technical documentation and delivery, or the planning and design of recent communities.
Experience with industry‐standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite will be highly regarded. Responsibilities
* Participate in creative landscape and public realm design; and deliver input into multiple projects from concept stage through to design development, production, and documentation.
* Work across a wide range of project types from individual sites, broad acre green‐field developments, inner city urban regeneration, transport and infrastructure, retail, open space parklands, waterfronts, commercial developments, and town centres.
* Prioritise multiple projects and deadlines and manage project involvement under the guidance of the Directors, Associate Directors, and Project Managers.
* Bring an understanding of design principles and methods and the ability to apply them in the urban environment.
* Problem‐solve and develop objective and informed insights to aid the design process.
* Utilise excellent verbal and written communication skills in preparing visual aids/drawings, report preparation, preparation of meeting notes, correspondence, etc.
* Visually and creatively communicate key design ideas and outcomes in a clear and succinct way across a range of methods and platforms including a mix of advanced skills in freehand drawing, the Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD.
* Work alongside other professionals on a range of multi‐disciplinary projects, in relation to client briefs, deadlines and budgets towards a suitable commercial outcome.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture at a graduate or postgraduate level – Minimum 1 – 5 years relevant experience, ideally gained in a private practice or with local council or government.
* Communicates graphically at a proficient level using both digital and hand‐drawn formats to convey design ideas, concepts and documentation.
* Brings an understanding of design principles and methods and the ability to apply them in the urban environment.
* Is a competent and efficient AutoCAD user and is a competent and efficient user of relevant components of the Adobe Suite, AutoCAD.
* Experience using Revit, SketchUp, Rhino and other 3D modelling software – desirable.
* Engages in cross‐team communication and solution development to help inform outcomes and project delivery.
