Overview
Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM) at Royal Hobart Hospital is recruiting Intensive Care Fellows/Senior Registrars and CICM Transitional Fellows for the 2027–2028 year (1 February 2027 – 7 February 2028).
Responsibilities
* Independent resuscitation, team leadership and communication in intensive care units.
* Lead ward rounds, manage patient flow and run unit operations with Consultant Specialist oversight.
* Take leadership roles in family meetings and organ donation casework.
* Provide after‐hours emergency cover and first on‐call off‐site duties.
* Participate in protected‐time teaching, simulation, journal club and bedside teaching.
Qualifications
* Significant tertiary intensive care experience, including recent experience in Australia or New Zealand.
* Completion or near‐completion of the final exam for Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine, or equivalent.
* General or limited registration with the Australian Medical Board.
* Current Tasmanian Working with Children registration where applicable.
* Strong academic record, excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
Salary and Benefits
$138,978 – $194,675 per annum, plus 12% superannuation and salary packaging.
Employment Details
Fixed term, full‐time day work with on‐call, 76 hours per fortnight (plus 10 hours protected training time per fortnight, pro rata). Commencing 1 February 2027 until 7 February 2028.
