The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and components to meet specific requirements, complying with safety and regulatory standards. The role involves executing, analyzing, designing, testing, and integrating systems to meet business standards and project requirements, preparing and presenting technical data for approvals, and documenting results. Responsibilities include participating in project teams, sharing engineering information, preparing invention disclosures, and ensuring proper documentation.
Specific duties include designing HV systems for grid-interconnected renewable energy projects, preparing single-line diagrams, layouts, earthing, and cabling systems, selecting and sizing HV equipment, and performing system studies such as load flow and short circuit analysis. The role also involves evaluating vendor drawings, coordinating with various teams (automation, civil, MEP), and staying updated on global renewable technologies.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
* 15-20 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering roles, preferably in a urea manufacturing plant or a similar chemical process industry.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
* Project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor equipment‑related projects.
* Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in rotary equipment and urea manufacturing.

About Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers: Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers, based in Western Australia, is developing Project Ceres—Australia's largest and one of the world's biggest urea plants, with a USD $4.5 billion investment and a capacity of 2.3 million metric tons per year. Located in Karratha, the plant will use feedstock from Woodside under a 20‑year supply agreement and has a 20‑year offtake agreement with Incitec Pivot.
Urea is a safe, non‑toxic fertiliser vital for boosting global agricultural productivity. The project will support the fertiliser supply chain, add value to Australian resources, and create around 2,000 jobs, including 200 permanent roles, boosting the local economy.
