John Paul College currently has opportunities for experienced Grounds Officers to join our Property Services team in full-time, part-time, or casual capacities.Grounds Officers at John Paul College are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the College's gardens and grounds. These roles are based at our beautiful campus in Daisy Hill, Queensland, with flexible work arrangements available depending on operational needs.Reporting directly to the Grounds Manager, these roles play an integral part in College operations by supporting other departments and assisting with event logistics, including setup and pack-down for functions on campus.Regular duties of these roles will includeMaintenance of the College gardens and grounds, including mowing, weeding, fertilizing, garden bed maintenance, daytime cleaning, and rubbish removal.Maintaining planted and garden areas within the College environment, including hedging, pruning, and removal/disposal of unwanted growth.Supporting landscaping projects as required.Opening and securing gates and premises across campus.Supporting students, staff, visitors, and contractors during events and responding to general inquiries.Operating equipment, including pre- and post-use checks and reporting any concerns.Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements, including safe work practices and procedures.Requirements for the RoleGrounds Officers at John Paul College work within a collaborative team and must meet the following essential criteria:Positive Paid Blue Card / Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain before the start date).Open Driver's Licence.Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain).A friendly and approachable demeanour, along with strong communication skills, will be essential for success in this role.
