GCMarine is a dynamic Marine Berthing manufacturer located on the Gold Coast that supplies and installs innovative marine berthing solutions throughout Australia and overseas. Due to current work commitments, our team is expanding, and we now have the need to employ a suitably experienced Operations Manager, based out of our Arundel factory.
About the role…
It's an early start 5 days a week. YOU will be responsible for planning the logistical operations as well as managing supply chains for all aspects of the business, to include residential, commercial, export and ex-factory projects. Not only will YOU be responsible for stock management and procurement to meet the needs of a busy manufacturing facility, but YOU will have the ability to plan and schedule individuals and teams of workers in various fields. These include aluminium fabrication, civil works, concrete pouring, piling barge movements, general construction, crane management and truck movements. Having the support of an experienced Office Administrator, YOU will be required to plan and schedule numerous projects at once including project installation of pontoons, gangways and jetties whilst at the same time have an understanding of factory fabrication deliverables.
YOU will build and encourage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate, plan and schedule the Day-To-Day manufacturing operational needs and requirements. Managing the production schedule in conjunction with the installation teams and procuring all stock and materials to ensure those areas of the business run efficiently and profitably is an essential part of the job.
Our ideal candidate will have:
* A current & valid unrestricted QLD drivers licence with your own transportation
* A strong work ethic and the ability to adapt and change whilst working under pressure
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently pick up the phone and talk to customers, suppliers and all key stakeholders
* Leadership skills with the desire and ability to direct and manage staff, either individuals or teams, with a view of focusing on productivity and profitability for the business
* Experience in, or knowledge of resourcing materials and supply chain management
* An understanding of various software systems including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Xero and AroFlo
* Experience coordinating planning and scheduling across multiple business areas
* Ability to identify emerging issues in a manufacturing environment
* Excellent problem-solving skills
