About the Role
The Head of Projects / Projects Department Manager leads TSA's Projects Department and is accountable for project performance, commercial outcomes, and revenue derived from project installations work. This is a senior leadership role operating at the intersection of: Commercial discipline and margin protection Client leadership and relationship ownership
You will not be tasked with scouring tender portals or cold‐generate leads — those functions are primarily supported by Sales. However, you will be expected to personally drive revenue by owning and growing TSA's core project client relationships, consultants, and industry partners. This role suits a leader who understands that in complex project environments, revenue is protected and grown through credibility, presence, and repeat work — not just sales activity.
Key Accountabilities
Revenue & Commercial Leadership
* Be personally accountable for project‐originated revenue performance
* Own and grow relationships with TSA's core project clients and stakeholders
* Identify downstream, variation, and repeat project opportunities through strong client engagement
* Represent TSA commercially with key clients, consultants, and industry bodies
* Collaborate with Sales to convert opportunities into well‐structured, profitable projects
* Ensure scoping, pricing, and delivery commitments support sustainable margins
Financial & P&L Ownership
* Own department‐level revenue and gross margin outcomes
* Drive accurate forecasting from pipeline through WIP and invoicing
* Govern progress claims, deposits, variations, and final account close‐out
* Maintain strong WIP discipline and elevate commercial risk early
Governance, Risk & Contract Discipline
* Lead front‐end project risk assessment and "go / no‐go" decision‐making
* Enforce contract discipline and variation control
* Ensure consistent application of delivery standards, documentation, and quality systems
Leadership & Capability
* Lead, coach, and develop Project Managers and supporting resources
* Build scalable systems, templates, and delivery frameworks
* Set clear expectations, ownership, and performance standards
* Lift the commercial and professional maturity of the Projects Department
Cross‐Functional Alignment
* Work closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering/Drafting, and Finance
* Ensure clean project handovers, realistic programming, and aligned resourcing
* Act as a senior escalation point for complex or high‐risk projects
About You
You are a senior project leader who understands that revenue responsibility does not stop at contract award. You are comfortable:
* Owning and maintaining senior client relationships
* Being commercially visible and accountable
* Carrying responsibility for both delivery and revenue outcomes
You bring sound judgement, composure under pressure, and credibility in front of clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Essential Experience
* Leadership of a Projects Department or senior PM team
* Minimum 2-3 years of leadership experience in a Projects Department or senior project management team
* Personal accountability for revenue performance and margin outcomes
* Client‐facing leadership in complex project environments
* Strong commercial judgement across scoping, pricing, risk, and delivery
* Contract administration and variation management discipline
Desirable Background
* Engineering, construction, infrastructure, or technically complex environments
* Experience with repeat clients and long‐term industry stakeholders
* Exposure to formal governance, quality, or assurance frameworks
