About the Role
We are seeking a commercially minded Credit Analyst to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for assessing, structuring and recommending mortgage and development loan applications in accordance with internal credit policy and risk appetite. You will work closely with brokers, borrowers, valuers, solicitors and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient deal flow from initial enquiry through to formal approval.
Responsibilities
* Assess residential, bridging and development loan applications (up to $20M)
* Analyse financial statements, servicing position and borrower capacity
* Review and interpret valuation reports and supporting documentation
* Assess security position, LVR, exit strategy and overall transaction risk
* Prepare clear and concise credit submissions and recommendations
* Liaise with brokers, borrowers and professional advisors throughout the application process
* Ensure compliance with internal credit policy and lending parameters
* Manage workflow, inbox and application pipeline efficiently
* Support continuous improvement of credit processes and documentation standards
Qualifications
* Minimum 2+ years' experience in credit assessment (bank or non-bank preferred)
Required Skills
* Strong understanding of mortgage lending fundamentals
* Sound analytical and risk assessment capability
* High attention to detail
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Preferred Skills
* Experience in development or construction finance
* Exposure to non-bank or private lending environments
* Understanding of short-term lending products
