Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power Systems Engineer to lead grid connection and operational compliance across a portfolio of large-scale renewable energy and storage projects. The successful candidate will have strong technical and commercial skills, with the ability to shape Australia's energy future.
Responsibilities:
* Manage grid feasibility, connection, registration, commissioning, and compliance across the full project lifecycle
* Conduct early-stage grid connection feasibility assessments and secure connection agreements
* Lead technical due diligence for new wind, solar, and storage projects
* Collaborate with AEMO, NSPs, and other stakeholders to shape network development strategies
* Support operational asset performance, including metering, maintenance coordination, and loss optimization
* Represent the company at industry forums and contribute to strategic planning and budgeting
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in electrical/power systems engineering with 3–10 years of relevant experience
* Strong understanding of the NER, NEM, and grid connection processes for inverter-based resources
* Experience with PSSE, PSCAD, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory
* Proven ability to work with AEMO, NSPs, OEMs, and technical consultants
* Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders
