The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Painter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paints, and ensuring every project meets our stringent standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities & Job Tasks
* Setup & Protection:
* Erect scaffolding and ladders as required, and place drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering and damage.
* Surface Preparation:
* Prepare surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces to ensure a flawless finish.
* Paint Preparation:
* Select and prepare paints to required colours by accurately mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning/drying additives.
* Application:
* Apply paints, varnishes, and stains to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
* Hang wallpaper, ensuring patterns are matched seamlessly and edges are trimmed neatly.
* Site Maintenance:
* Clean and maintain equipment and work areas during and after projects to ensure a safe and tidy environment.
What We're Looking For
* Proven at least 1 year experience as a professional painter.
* Proficiency in surface preparation, paint mixing, and application techniques.
* Experience with wallpaper installation and pattern matching.
* Ability to erect scaffolding and ladders safely.
* Knowledge of tools, materials, and methods used in painting and decorating.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
