This position will be located in Midvale, UT USA or Australia. Relocation and immigration assistance will be provided.
The Global Product Line Manager will manage multiple teams led by Senior Managers and/or Managers or a number of Lead or Expert IC role holders. Responsibilities typically include ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of significant areas. Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis. This role requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and to communicate effectively with executive leadership. This position will be based at our U.S. office in Midvale, UT.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Track market performance (order intake, revenue, proposals, quality, claims, customer feedback) and globally determine all aspects of the product lifecycle.
2. Ensure that FLSmidth delivers competitive, state-of-the-art service products and solutions globally.
3. Be the overall global product owner with profit & loss responsibility.
4. Possess technical knowledge, a commercial perspective, and strategic vision supported by technical expertise.
5. Align service product and solution strategy with the Group and business strategy, and direct R&D efforts.
6. Launch new products as the product responsible owner and oversee Product Development and Optimization Projects.
7. Support Customer Services Sales in proposing and selling the product, including delivering compelling presentations that differentiate FLSmidth in the marketplace.
Required Skills & Competencies
1. B.S. degree in engineering discipline preferred; 10+ years of relevant work experience; specialized knowledge related to screen products is required.
2. Credibility in knowledge of FLSmidth equipment, markets, customers, and competitors.
3. Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and drawings; knowledge of marketing, bidding, and pricing techniques.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation abilities; proficiency with standard software.
5. Leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and customer relations skills; experience in planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
6. Commercial sensitivity in customer relationships and problem-solving.
7. Physical ability to walk, climb stairs, work around equipment, sit, stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs.
8. Travel is expected, including domestic and international trips to job sites, customers, and contractors; approximately 70% office work, 30% travel.
