Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager at Hyne Group, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services that support our people across the business. Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll help ensure weekly wages, records, and reporting are managed smoothly and compliantly.
We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Officer who is keen to grow and progress their payroll career. This role offers a strong development pathway, whether you're stepping into payroll from administration or accounts, or already have some payroll experience, you'll gain hands-on exposure to end-to-end payroll processing, legislation, systems, and HR support, building toward a well-rounded payroll or broader HR career.
In this role, you will:
* Assist with weekly end-to-end payroll processing in a high-volume environment.
* Deliver accurate, compliant and timely weekly wage payments and reporting.
* Maintain payroll records and audit trails with a strong focus on accuracy and privacy.
* Ensure compliance with Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and relevant legislation.
* Support the maintenance of payroll and timekeeping systems including Kronos or similar platforms.
* Respond to payroll queries professionally and confidentially.
* Partner with the Payroll and HR team to identify improvements and streamline processes.
* Contribute to a collaborative, values-driven team culture where everyone supports each other to succeed.
About you

* Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and data.
* Excellent organisation and time management skills.
* Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal.
* Confidence learning and using payroll systems and digital tools.
* Ability to stay calm, accurate, and efficient under deadlines.
Highly regarded but not essential:
* 1-2+ years payroll experience in a high-volume environment
* Exposure to Awards, Enterprise Agreements, or Fair Work legislation.
* Experience with payroll software and UKG - Kronos (or similar)
* Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Payroll/
