We're currently seeking compassionate Mental Health Support Workers to deliver high-quality care within SIL home settings across the Wollongong area. This role suits professionals who are confident in providing consistent, person-centered support while fostering a safe and structured home environment for Participants with diverse mental health needs.
About the Position
As a Support Worker, you will work alongside Participants living with mental health diagnoses including Dementia, Schizophrenia, and Bipolar Disorder. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, supporting emotional regulation strategies, promoting independence, and maintaining a secure and stable environment.
We offer ongoing rostered shifts, including sleepover shifts, providing steady hours for dependable and committed team members.
Essential Criteria:
* Strong written and verbal English communication skills
* Minimum of 1year experience in mental health support
* Availability and willingness to undertake sleepover shifts (non-negotiable)
* Experience supporting individuals with Dementia, Schizophrenia, and Bipolar Disorder (highly regarded)
* Ability to complete detailed and accurate shift notes and incident reports (non-negotiable)
* Current NSW Driver Licence
* Own reliable vehicle with full comprehensive insurance
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Current First Aid & CPR certification
* National Police Check
* Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries with a calm and confident manner
* Contactable professional references
* Completion of required NDIS Orientation Modules, including:
o Induction Module
o Orientation Module
o Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals
o Infection Control
