ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and reliable 1st Year Carpentry Apprentice to begin working toward a Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220).
This full-time role is based in Aldinga and will commence in a prefabrication (prefab) workshop, where you'll learn and build frames, install cladding and windows, and develop your skills in a controlled environment. Over time, you'll progress to installing and assembling prefab structures on-site, gaining well-rounded, hands-on carpentry experience.
An apprentice carpenter in a prefab environment works under the supervision of skilled carpenters to learn the trade while contributing to the production of pre-manufactured building components. The role involves both hands-on construction and developing an understanding of prefabrication techniques to create efficient, high-quality building elements.
As an apprentice, you'll receive guidance from experienced carpenters and learn essential skills such as reading blueprints, measuring and cutting materials, and safely using a range of specialised tools.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assisting in the construction of prefabricated wall frames, floor sections, and roof structures
• Measuring, cutting, and assembling timber and other materials
• Installing cladding and windows in a controlled workshop environment
• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Learning carpentry techniques such as framing, wall assembly, and roof construction
• Conducting quality control checks to ensure precision and structural integrity
• Inspecting finished components to ensure they meet quality standards before delivery to site
• Assisting in the on-site installation of prefab structures as your skills progress
• Maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
• A genuine interest in carpentry, construction, and prefabrication
• Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A current driver's licence and reliable transport
• A valid White Card (Construction Induction Certificate)
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, practical work
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
