Job Description
The role of Senior Sales Representative is a critical position within the organization's Sales team. This individual will be responsible for managing a defined territory of retail stores, while also taking ownership of mini group accounts.
As the key contact for both independent retailers and small chain/multi-site customers, this representative will drive sales performance, execute promotional plans, and ensure in-store excellence. The ideal candidate will have a blend of strategic account management and hands-on field execution skills.
Reporting directly to the National Field Manager, this role offers a unique opportunity for high-performing FMCG professionals looking to take the next step in their sales career.
Required Skills and Qualifications
1. Territory Management: Manage a defined geographical area of stores within South Australia, ensuring territory sales targets are met or exceeded.
2. Account Management - Mini Groups: Take end-to-end responsibility for a portfolio of mini group accounts (multi-site independents or small chains), including negotiation, promotional planning, and relationship development.
3. Execution Excellence: Implement and maintain best-in-class execution across product visibility, availability, planogram compliance, and promotional activity.
4. Customer Relationship Building: Build strong, long-term relationships with store managers, group buyers, and key decision-makers to drive brand advocacy and sales growth.
5. Data & Insights: Use sales data and reporting tools to identify opportunities, track performance, and support fact-based selling.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively with internal teams including marketing, category management, and logistics to deliver tailored solutions and ensure smooth execution.
7. Mentorship & Leadership: Act as a senior member of the field team, offering mentorship and guidance to junior representatives as required.
8. Experience as a Sales Representative, National Account Executive, Key Account Manager or similar level.
9. Proven experience managing independent retailers and/or mini group accounts.
10. Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and data-driven decision-making.
11. Ability to work autonomously in the field and manage a flexible schedule.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Proficient in MS Office and CRM/reporting systems.
14. Current driver's license and willingness to travel across South Australia as required.
