**Job Opportunity: Assistant Design Manager**
This is a key role that will support design management and space planning as a member of the design and planning team at Western Sydney University.
The successful candidate will report to the Program Design Manager and participate in the delivery of small to medium size projects focused on interior alterations to university buildings including workspace, teaching space, laboratories, student spaces and public domain.
The position contributes to the space management team by participating in space monitoring, policy refinement, space strategy and test fits.
An additional responsibility is to monitor spaces changes and ensure the University's space database is accurate and up-to-date.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in architecture or interior design with 2-5 years of design and construction industry experience in larger or complex organisations.
* Prior design management experience would be an advantage.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidate should have:
* Well-developed visual presentation skills with the ability communicate ideas clearly and succinctly to different stakeholders and produce high quality presentation materials.
* Demonstrated ability to produce test fits with-in a wide variety of space typologies including workplace, learning, specialisedand technical spaces.
* Demonstrated capability with applications including ArchiCAD, Adobe and Microsoft Office.
* Understanding of data management applications such as Microsoft Excel and exposure to databases will be an advantage. Ability to analyse, interpret and visualise data will be well suited to this position.
* Analytical thinker, inspired by innovative ideas and committed to good design.
* Demonstrated oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
* Well-developed problem-solving skills, the capacity to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
* Proactively and autonomously develop solutions to resolve conflicting interests.
* Driver's license and the ability to attend multiple sites across Western Sydney.
* Experience with the design of agile work environments would be an advantage.
