Brefni is a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering complex projects across NSW. With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our high-performing team in Wagga Wagga.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a senior technical role, supporting the planning and delivery of major civil projects while contributing to the development of Brefni's regional operations.
About the Role
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will take ownership of engineering planning, cost control, quality management, and coordination of project resources.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and reviewing project programs, methodologies, and technical plans
* Managing cost tracking, forecasting, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
* Ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and design standards
* Preparing and reviewing ITPs, quality documentation, and project reporting
* Supporting the management of safety performance and environmental compliance
* Providing technical leadership to engineers and site teams
* Building strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
About You
You will bring strong engineering capability and be ready to take the next step in senior project delivery. Ideally, you have:
* 5–8+ years' experience as a Project Engineer in civil construction
* Strong technical knowledge across utilities, earthworks, structures, or general civil
* Proven experience managing project documentation, quality, and cost controls
* High-level organisational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
* Strong communication and leadership capability
* A degree in Civil Engineering or similar
