Bookkeeping & Accounting Support - Full-Time Trainee

At Coutts Redington, we are on the lookout for a bright and enthusiastic Trainee Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team of accountants and business advisors. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone either currently enrolled in or willing to commence a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping. The role is ideal for a junior candidate with a passion for numbers, keen attention to detail, and a desire to develop a career in bookkeeping and business accounting.
What You Will Be Doing:
1. Assist with processing and maintaining accurate financial records for business clients
2. Perform data entry and transaction coding in cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
3. Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts
4. Assist in the preparation of BAS, IAS, and other ATO lodgements under supervision
5. Support with accounts payable and receivable tasks
6. Assist in payroll processing and superannuation compliance
7. Maintain client files and ensure confidentiality of financial data
8. Communicate effectively with team members and clients as required
9. Participate in training and development sessions to build technical knowledge
What We Are Looking For:
1. Completion of Year 12 (minimum)
2. A genuine interest in accounting and bookkeeping
3. Currently undertaking or willing to commence Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping
4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
5. Enthusiastic attitude and eagerness to learn
6. Confident communication skills and a proactive mindset
7. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
8. A junior candidate looking for a long-term career pathway
9. Previous customer service or office experience is a bonus
