About the position The Project Engineer – Water and Wastewater provides high quality professional, innovative and practical civil engineering support and project management, and assists in the best practice development, implementation and monitoring of maintenance and construction works carried out by Council’s Water and Wastewater team. Key Responsibilities Prepare and manage budgets for construction and maintenance projects Ensure that projects undertaken in the construction, maintenance, and operation of Council’s water and wastewater assets comply with relevant standards, guidelines, codes of practice and legislation Develop tender documentation and quotations and assist with the engagement of external service providers Provide subdivision and development engineering expertise in assessing and inspecting developments and subdivisions, development control plans, codes and policies Review engineering plans for water and wastewater assets and provide advice to the Asset Manager – Water and Wastewater and ensure assets are captured in Council’s asset register Manage all risks associated with the preparation and delivery of projects Read the Position Description and learn more about this exciting opportunity. About you A 4 year degree in Civil Engineering suitable to gain Professional Engineer member status with the Institution of Engineers (Australia) with a minimum of 5 years experience working in a multi-disciplined Project Engineering field Demonstrated knowledge of the regulatory and legislative requirements relevant to water and wastewater asset construction and management Superior written and oral communication skills, including the preparation of complex technical reports, delivery of presentations, and research skills Experience and demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Project. Class C driver’s license. Experience with Aus-Spec (Nat-Spec) design and construction specifications.
