Prison Counsellor Job Description
The Department of Justice, Western Australia seeks a skilled Prison Counsellor to support the mental health and well-being of prisoners. This role requires a strong therapeutic assessment and intervention background, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide clinical assessments and interventions to support prisoner mental health and well-being
* Work with diverse client groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse populations
* Participate in multi-disciplinary risk management processes and case management meetings
* Consult with other professionals to develop effective treatment plans
