About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an Enrolled Nurse to join the Swanston Centre Unit, a specialist inpatient service supporting people experiencing acute mental health needs. The Swanston Centre is part of Barwon Health's Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Service (MHDAS) a renowned Mental Health service that provides community and inpatient mental health services across the Geelong region, working closely with consumers, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care.
As an Enrolled Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, person-centred care, supporting consumers through their recovery journey, and contributing to a therapeutic and respectful ward environment.
You will work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, collaborating closely with nursing, medical, and allied health staff to support assessment, care delivery, and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality mental health nursing care consistent with recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice
* Assist with monitoring mental state, physical health, and wellbeing, reporting changes appropriately
* Contribute to the implementation of care plans under the direction of our Registered Psychiatric Nursing team
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
* Demonstrates understanding of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 (Vic)
About You
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Enrolled Nurse who:
* Holds current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse
* Has experience or a strong interest in mental health nursing
* Demonstrates a person-centred, recovery-focused approach to care
* Communicates effectively with consumers, families, and colleagues
* Works well within a team and values collaboration
* Is committed to continuous learning and professional development
