  • Analyse cost trends, variances, and emerging financial risks and opportunities, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Coordinate monthly cost forecasting activities with delivery teams, contractors, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Review contractor cost submissions and forecasts to ensure alignment with scope, delivery assumptions, and approved baselines.
  • Support cost assurance reviews, estimate reviews, and periodic reforecasting exercises.
  • Work closely with planning, risk, and commercial teams to align project scope, schedule, risk, and cost outcomes.
  • Maintain and improve cost control systems, reporting tools, dashboards, and data quality processes.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of project controls standards, governance frameworks, and reporting practices.
You'll Need
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Controls, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Estimating, Risk Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in cost control, project controls, commercial reporting, or project finance within major infrastructure, construction, transport, utilities, energy, rail, roads, or capital projects environments.
  • Strong understanding of cost forecasting, budgeting, cost reporting, financial analysis, and project controls methodologies.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), risk management, and contemporary cost estimating techniques.
  • Experience working with large‐scale, complex infrastructure projects and multi‐disciplinary project teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial and project data.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions and influence outcomes.
  • Experience working within complex matrix organisations and collaborative project environments.
  • Experience with Incentivised Target Cost (ITC) contracts will be highly regarded.
  • A high level of computer literacy, including experience with project controls systems, reporting tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
