A Network Engineer - Specialist is an integral contributor to delivering a superior network experience for our customers. The role involves contributing to specialist analysis, design, development, and deployment in specific network technology domains. Key responsibilities include the development of test documentation, test strategy, and quality performance, as well as maintaining expertise on Telstra's networks and products.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop test documentation and deliver to agreed timelines, quality performance, and customer service levels.
* Contribute to test strategies, test plans, test readiness, and test report documentation.
* Be recognized as a subject matter expert for transmission technology and platforms, providing expert support, consultancy, guidance, and facilitation to other areas of the organization.
* Maintain and build expertise on Telstra's networks and products, technologies, and operating systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Previous experience in network engineering roles.
* Use of telecommunications test equipment and testing methodologies (C-OTDR, BER, RFC****).
* Strong knowledge of telecommunications technology – Ethernet, DWDM, OTN, SDH, PDH, MPLS-TP, Segment Routing.
* Strong competence in analysis, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and leadership.
* Stakeholder & project management.
