About the Role
Gamcorp is seeking a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer to step into a high-trust, high-impact leadership role within our engineering leadership team. This position is suited to an experienced structural engineer who already operates with a high degree of technical authority and is looking for greater influence, reduced bureaucracy, and a clearer pathway to long-term leadership.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering and shaping structural engineering outcomes across Gamcorp's renewable energy portfolio, with a strong emphasis on solar infrastructure, while also acting as a senior technical authority across other industrial sectors.
This is an office-based leadership role in Richmond, Melbourne, with flexibility for 1–2 days working from home by agreement. Regular presence in the office is required due to the seniority of the role and its leadership, mentoring, and decision-making responsibilities.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Authority & Certification
* Act as a senior technical authority for structural engineering deliverables, with a strong focus on solar and renewable energy projects
* Review, certify, and sign structural designs in accordance with statutory and professional obligations
* Provide high-level technical guidance and oversight to ensure quality, safety, and compliance across all certified work
* Support efficient project delivery while maintaining rigorous engineering standards
Renewable Energy Leadership
* Lead structural engineering input for solar and renewable energy projects
* Develop practical, commercially sound structural solutions for complex renewable infrastructure
* Contribute to the evolution of best practice and technical standards within the renewable sector
Client & Commercial Engagement
* Act as a trusted technical advisor to key clients
* Support business development through technical input into proposals, scopes, and client discussions
* Maintain a commercially aware approach to engineering delivery
Team Leadership & Mentorship
* Working within the leadership team to mentor and develop engineers across technical capability, project delivery, and professional judgement
* Working within the leadership team to support the growth of future Senior and Principal engineers within the business
* Working within the leadership team to contribute to continuous improvement of internal systems, templates, and engineering processes

* Minimum 93% Net Utilisation per month
* Including Team Support, Client Support, Proposal time, and Billable Design time recorded
Net Project Efficiency
Ensure profitable and efficient delivery of all personally managed and certified projects
* Solar projects: Minimum 85% Net Efficiency
* Other discipline projects: Minimum 100% Net Efficiency

About You
You are an experienced structural engineer who values technical excellence, professional integrity, and leading a team. You are confident operating in a senior role and are ready to influence both projects and people.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum Senior Structural Engineer level experience
* Registered Professional Engineer
* Minimum 12 years experience in structural consulting
* Can demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to operate as a senior technical leader
* Can demonstrate the ability to resolve engineering problems using First Principal engineering knowledge
* Experience in renewable energy projects, particularly Commercial Roof and Ground-Mount solar projects (strongly preferred)
Desirable
* Chartered Professional Engineer or working toward CPEng
* Experience acting as a Principal or Associate-level technical authority
* Additional registrations (VBA, RPEQ, NPER, NZ-CPEng, etc.)
Career Progression
* Candidates appointed at Senior level will be supported with a clear pathway to Principal within 18 months, subject to performance and capability
* Long-term leadership, equity, and profit-share opportunities may be available for the right individual
Remuneration
* Fair and competitive with industry standards, commensurate with experience and level. Ranging from 120k - 140k Salary excluding Super based on experience
