The opportunity
We are in the market for an experienced and qualified Plant and Fleet Mechanic. You are passionate about your profession and enjoy the rewards of a good challenge. At CoM we strive to embrace change as our norm and therefore require a person who is innovative, agile, proactive and enthusiastic.
In this role you will be responsible for providing a specialised service working on heavy and light plant and equipment, light commercials, four-wheel drive and all-terrain vehicles and small plant. You will also be responsible for training and mentoring apprentices.
The position is accountable for:
* Customer service
* Mechanical repair and maintenance across a broad range of vehicles, plant and equipment
* Hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems diagnosis and repair in vehicles, plant and equipment
* Parts interpretation
* Two-way radio, dash and reverse cameras, GPS and related system installations and removals
* Automotive air conditioning servicing and repairs
* Reading schematic and auto electrical diagrams
* Training and mentoring apprentices
* Good housekeeping and strong safety awareness and practice
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering – Heavy Duty Mechanic or equivalent (Industry Level C8)
* Hold a current unrestricted C (Manual) and H-R (Heavy Rigid) class Western Australian driver's licence
* Formal qualifications or relevant experience in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, auto electrical and auto electronics
* Experience in the repair and maintenance of all plant including chainsaws, brushcutters and mowers through to major plant such as trucks, loaders and graders
* Experience in using computers and mobile technology
* Experience in using automotive diagnostic equipment
