Job Title: Registered Nurse - Wollongong
Join us at Illawarra Mercury for a Permanent Part-Time Registered Nurse position based in Wollongong, NSW. This role involves working 70 hours across 10 shifts per fortnight, including weekends and afternoons, at our Wollongong Donor Centre & Donor Mobile Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Greet and interview potential donors to assess eligibility
2. Perform routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
3. Set up and operate blood collection equipment
4. Insert and remove needles safely for blood, plasma, and platelet collection
5. Provide clinical oversight and support to team members
6. Manage adverse reactions and monitor donors post-donation
7. Ensure a positive donor experience to encourage repeat donations
Qualifications and Skills:
* Current AHPRA registration
* Excellent communication skills and a passion for helping others
* Ability to lift between 9-22.7kgs and stand/walk for extended periods
* Availability for varied shifts, including weekends and afternoons
