Service Officer Finance
Location – Parramatta (prime location) & Liverpool, minimum 50% office attendance required (in accordance with the DCJ Flexible Work Policy)

Salary – Clerk Grade 3/4 $84,659 to $92,701 + plus superannuation and leave loading
Your role
As a Service Officer Finance you will contribute to delivering teams assigned procure-to-pay validations, account payable and financial reporting accountabilities and priorities in order to achieve compliance with Department policies, statutory requirements and external regulators.
What you’ll do
As part of the Rates Team in Disaster Welfare & Business Continuity team within HOMES NSW, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
* The role assists Senior Service Officer with managing the process and payments of council and water rate instalments for HOMES NSW owned properties from 108 council and water rate authorities.
* This role is critical to ensure the council and water rate authorities are paid on time without risk of penalty interest charges.
* Utilise appropriate systems and processes to review, maintain and coordinate accounting and financial information.
* Input accurate financial data and contribute to robust and consistent reporting to comply with Department objectives, government policy, accounting standards and statutory requirements.
* Provide administrative assistance determined by the team priorities and directly contribute to accurate and robust reporting and analysis to optimise the whole of Department financial information and reporting.
* Manage business unit online filing systems in accordance with standards and guidelines, by creating, storing, retrieving and tracking files to ensure accuracy and security of information.
* Participate in the development of management reporting systems and accounting methods to improve existing procedures and the communication of financial information.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and service delivery divisions to exchange information, obtain cooperation and support and provide financial information.
* Validate and support financial transactions, including vendor invoice processing, requisition checks and delegated payment approvals, ensuring compliance with policy and timely resolution of business enquiries.
* Collaborate with team members and contribute to team and unit priorities working towards mutual continued development and to provide feedback to each other on tasks undertaken.
What we’re looking for
You will need to be organised and has great time management skills. The role requires a highly motivated, self-driven individual. Furthermore, the successful candidate will require strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at various levels within the department.
* Previous experience in a high-volume AP/AR environment is desirable but not required
* Ability to work autonomously and also as part of a team
* Continuous improvement capability and drive
* A high level of attention to detail & ability to edit own work to a high standard
