Northern Territory Primary Health Network (NT PHN) is seeking expressions of interest from passionate, skilled, and community-focused individuals, who reside in the Northern Territory to join its Board as a Non-Executive Director.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a strategic leadership role in improving health outcomes across one of the most diverse and geographically unique regions in Australia.
About Northern Territory PHN
The Health Network Northern Territory Limited (the Company), operating as Northern Territory PHN (NT PHN), operates the Northern Territory's Primary Health Network, and is also the Northern Territory's Rural Workforce Agency. NT PHN is a not-for-profit organisation funded by the Australian Government to work closely with the primary health sector to develop better coordination, support the health workforce and introduce new health programs and services.
About Director positions
We are inviting expressions of interest for appointment to the NT PHN Board as a Non-Executive Director. The proposed appointment date is 24 November 2025.
* The Board meets approximately 6 times per year.
* Most Directors also serve on a Board Committee, meeting at least 4 times per year
* The initial term is for three years, with potential for renewal
* Directors are remunerated in accordance with our Directors' Remuneration Policy

We are seeking candidates who can bring strategic insight, strong governance understanding, and a genuine commitment to health equity in the NT.
The NT PHN Board values diverse perspectives and encourages applicants from various professional backgrounds—particularly those with experience in:
* Primary health care
* Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Services
* General Practice
* Public health policy and delivery
* Clinical governance
* Health research and research translation
* Health workforce planning
* Data Governance and Digital Health

Desired Skills and Qualities
While no individual is expected to have every skill, collectively the Board seeks experience in the following areas:
* Strategic thinking and the ability to critically assess opportunities and risks
* Financial oversight and risk management
* Corporate governance (especially in a not-for-profit context)
* Understanding of best practice board structures, policies, and processes
* Passion, professionalism, and commitment to active board engagement
