About the Role
The Tasmania Prison Service is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team.
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated individual to supervise construction and maintenance activities within the prison institutions. The successful candidate will have experience in supervising construction, developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, and managing ongoing maintenance needs of plant and equipment.
The role involves reporting directly to the Manager Statewide Maintenance, providing support to the statewide maintenance team, and contributing to the effective functioning of the Tasmania Prison Service.
* Supervise and co-ordinate the duties of maintenance staff and contractors.
* Supervise and co-ordinate prison buildings and building service maintenance.
* Engage outside contractors to carry out specialist maintenance work beyond the scope of prison staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and manage ongoing preventative maintenance programs for all plant equipment in accordance with Departmental guidelines.
* Implement specific work as may be directed by the Manager Statewide Maintenance.
* Plan, co-ordinate, and supervise the performance of special tasks and projects as required.
Requirements:
* A trade or equivalent qualification related to facility maintenance is highly desirable.
* A relevant qualification, skill, or demonstrated employment background in engineering, facility maintenance, and/or project management is also desirable.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a comparable role.

Working Arrangements:
* This role is a permanent, day work position working 73.50 hours per fortnight.
