Position: Temp Maintenance Fork Truck Repair Location: Rockdale, IL Shift: Monday- Thursday, 5pm-3am Overview: The Forklift Mechanic will be responsible for performing general and preventative maintenance as well as repairs on all forklifts, floor scrubbers and scissor lifts in a timely manner. Major Functions and Tasks: Interpret manufacturer’s technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair engines and other components on material handling equipment. Perform PM’s and repairs on Tennant floor scrubbers, scissor lifts and an articulating boom lift. Occasionally assist maintenance personnel and or cover for maintenance personnel that are absent. Must follow all safety procedures when working on forklifts including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment and following lockout/tagout procedures. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Able to follow written and verbal instructions. Maintain good attendance. Must be familiar with diagnostics, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical aspects of forklifts. Knowledge of pumps, and mixers. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED (required). 2-4 years of mechanic experience; preferably prior experience with repair and maintenance of forklifts or other material handling equipment, or similar equipment.
