NextGenRegen (NGR) is a regenerative farm producing pasture-raised eggs and livestock products with a focus on animal welfare, soil health, and transparency. We run a fast-paced operation about 30km outside Dubbo, NSW.
The role
We're hiring a Farmhand Supervisor to lead day-to-day farm tasks, keep standards high, and help the team execute reliably.
* Classification: Pastoral Award — Level 7 Farm Hand (Supervisor)
* Location: On-farm (near Dubbo, NSW)
* Employment type: Full-time preferred (open to the right person)
Pay
* $55,000–$65,000 per annum + super (based on experience and fit)
Growth pathway (important)
This role is designed as a stepping stone.
For the first 12 months to 2 years, the position is a Level 7 Farm Hand Supervisor role. Subject to performance and business needs, the role is intended to progress into a Farm Operations Manager position with increased responsibility, pay review, and expanded benefits.
Visa Sponsorship Pathway (Performance-Based)
Where eligible and appropriate, a visa sponsorship pathway may be available once you've proven performance in-role and both parties commit to a longer-term arrangement. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be assessed based on performance, business capacity, and compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities
Livestock management & daily recording
* Daily egg collection and recording (egg numbers and deaths per coop)
* Feed and water management (daily checks/recording; continuous access for chickens)
* Pig program support: farrowing records, pig numbers, survival/mortality tracking
* Feed supply management to prevent stockouts for pigs and chickens
Infrastructure management & reporting
* Weekly inspection of coop systems across all flocks
* Lighting, nest boxes, feeders, water systems, door mechanisms, structural integrity
* Weekly infrastructure notes/reporting and immediate escalation of faults
Operational planning & coordination
* Weekly chicken moves and rotational grazing execution
* Pig moves (weekly to fortnightly) and fencing setup/maintenance
* Movement planning confirmed with owner
Vehicle & equipment
* Weekly checks (oils, water levels, general condition)
* Report mechanical issues early
* Operate tractors/quads/machinery where competent and licensed
Staff management & coordination
* Supervise and coordinate 3–4 workers (backpackers/teenagers as applicable)
* Daily task assignment, training, and performance management
* Maintain tidy work areas and standards across the farm
Farm presentation & hygiene
* Maintain a clean, organised, visitor-ready farm at all times
* Daily cleaning routines in egg collection/processing zones
* Professional storage and organisation of tools, equipment, and supplies
Skills and experience we're looking for
Must-have
* Livestock experience (hands-on animal care and welfare)
* Fencing skills — including building new fencing (set up, repairs, electric fencing confidence)
* Mechanical skills (basic repairs/maintenance; can diagnose issues early)
* Confident leading a small team and giving clear direction
* Reliable, physically fit, and happy working outdoors in all weather
* Strong work ethic, safety-minded, and takes ownership
* Good communication (can report issues early and keep the day moving)
Highly regarded
* Poultry experience (egg collection systems, coop checks, bird health awareness)
* Pig experience (moves, water systems, basic husbandry)
* Machinery/vehicle experience (quad, tractor, ute) — where competent and licensed
* Manual driver's licence (own car a bonus)
Not the right fit if
* You need constant supervision
* You're not comfortable holding others to a productive standard
* You're not willing to keep records and follow systems
