Position overview
The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking a motivated and high-performing individual to support the National Security and Space Program (NSSP) deliver flagship projects. As the Project Support Officer, your work within the National Security and Space Capability Delivery team will directly support Project Managers with achieving their outcomes and enhance the Program's capabilities. The role requires sound knowledge of the program, the functions of the Bureau and an understanding of how these intersect with the broader organisation.
The key duties of the position include
Supporting the development of documentation and project artefacts such as schedules, project plans, business cases and closure reports as required through the Bureau's Delivery Framework.
Effective stakeholder management through the coordination of meetings, workshops, international visitors, external vendors, program showcases and presentations.
Applying project-management methodologies to administrative and technical activities.
Task management using contemporary tools such as MS Planner to track the status of deliverables and milestone due dates.
Drafting and preparing briefs, correspondence, papers, documents and presentations including submissions for reporting to senior executives.
Champion the effective use of collaboration and communication tools such as SharePoint and MS Teams.
Assistance with embedding change and project management processes within the NSSP.
Provide administrative support with existing and new partner agreements in relation to tracking agreed milestones.
Compliance with Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.
Other duties as directed.
