Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree or higher in the relevant field (Engineering or Technology) At least 1 year of relevant work experience Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement Time management and resource planning & management in line with company objectives Demonstrable literacy to develop design, interpret drawing and support manufacturing department to production Experience in 2D/3D Computer Aided Design work A methodical approach to work with good time technical and management skills Key Responsibilities: Facilitate efficiencies in the manufacturing facility by applying basic engineering design principles under supervision. Assist in the design, planning, and coordination of production for customer orders where appropriate drawings have not been provided, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery with guidance from senior staff. Support investigations and evaluations of current work processes to identify potential areas for improvement and contribute to implementing changes that enhance product quality and reduce costs. Help analyse existing technologies to support development efforts. Assist in the preparation of drawings for new technologies in coordination with product managers. Participate in testing procedures and document findings to support identification of suitable solutions for customer needs. Conduct basic research on product technologies and structures to contribute to design concepts. Prepare or assist in the preparation of manufacturing drawings that align with customer requirements, supporting production teams to ensure specifications are met. Where customers provide only samples, assist in creating drawings from these samples and support prototype testing and verification. Learn and apply procedures that align with engineering principles and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with professionals, tradespersons, clients, and stakeholders to help ensure technological outcomes align with overall system goals. Liaise with internal and external teams, including associated companies and customers, to share relevant information in a timely manner in accordance with company policy. Assist in raising technical quotes and tenders for the sales team as required. Support the preparation of prototypes for testing and verification before full-scale production. Assist in designing the aesthetics, materials, and functionality of components. Learn to use CAD, CAM, and CAN systems to design and visualise projects.
