About The Role
The Mental Health Clinician works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide psychosocial assessments, evidence‐based counselling, and focused clinical therapy for young people aged 12–25 in a primary care setting. The role includes triage, assessment, care planning, therapeutic intervention, and reviewing client progress to support positive outcomes.
You'll collaborate with families, carers, GPs, external providers, and community services to ensure smooth referral pathways and holistic support. The position also offers opportunities to contribute to group programs, community education, and continuous service improvement, while participating in supervision and professional development.
Experience Requirements
* Demonstrated experience working within a fast‐paced environment.
* Provision of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and/or other evidence‐based therapies with young people aged 12‐25 who have a mental health disorder.
* Relevant experience in the area of youth mental health.
* Experience in delivery cognitive behaviour therapy, and other evidence‐based interventions for youth mental health difficulties.
Qualification And Other Requirements
* Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
* Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)
Applicants must hold qualifications in one of the following disciplines:
* Psychologist / Clinical Psychologist*
o Approved Masters or equivalent in psychology, with experience of two (2) years or more in clinical mental health settings preferably community based.
o Registered as a psychologist with AHPRA.
* Clinical Psychologist:
o To be recognised as a clinical psychologist, personnel must meet requirements to have practice endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia in specialist area of practice of clinical psychology.
* Mental Health Nurse:
o Mental Health Nurses must be accredited with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
o Experience of two (2) years or more in clinical mental health settings preferably community based.
* Social Worker:
o Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership and accreditation with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
o Experience of two (2) years or more in clinical mental health settings preferably community based.
* Occupational Therapist:
o Registered as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA.
o Approved degree from a recognised School of Occupational Therapy.
o Experience of two (2) years or more in clinical mental health settings preferably community based.
