Job Overview
The Explosive Ordnance Engineering Consultant is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to develop an understanding of defence organisational structure and engaging stakeholders to meet special program office requirements.
They will review and develop engineering documentation, provide training via short engineering presentations, answer direct technical questions from engineers regarding energetic materials, and diffuse technical material from defence organisations.
The consultant will also prepare material for broad audiences through conference papers or equivalent publications, and provide mentoring and task planning for junior/graduate engineers.
* Develop understanding of defence organisational structure and engage stakeholders to meet special program office requirements.
* Review and develop engineering documentation.
* Provide training via short engineering presentations on subject areas of value.
* Answer direct technical questions from engineers regarding energetic materials.
* Diffuse technical material from defence organisations.
* Prepare material for broad audiences through conference papers or equivalent publications.
* Provide mentoring and task planning for junior/graduate engineers.
Requirements
* Engineering degree in a suitable field with at least 2 years relevant experience, or a technical/trade background with 8+ years of demonstrable Defence experience.
* Elevated professional knowledge of guided weapon systems and/or Explosive Ordnance.
* Experience in engineering artefact development and review activities.
* High knowledge of applicable weapon systems, equipment, or technology.
* Experience using ASDEFCON principles.
* Experience supporting defence acquisition or sustainment projects.
* Knowledge of guided weapons / munitions and defence technical regulatory frameworks (preferably Guided weapons / EO).
* Explosive ordnance, materiel management, technical management.
* Certification/integration activities, and EO/weapons-related Land, Sea, and Air operations experience.
Desirable Skills
* Experience supporting defence acquisition or sustainment projects.
* Guided weapons / munitions.
* Defence technical regulatory frameworks (preferably Guided weapons / EO).
* Explosive ordnance, materiel management, technical management.
* Certification/integration activities, and EO/weapons-related Land, Sea, and Air operations experience.
Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian Citizens eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance.
