About the Role

The Operational Engineering Branch within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is responsible for delivering cutting-edge capabilities to support ASD's Signals Intelligence, Cyber, and Enterprise Capabilities. These capabilities include:

1. Delivery of new capability under the REDSPICE program;
2. Delivery of ASD's major capability programs;
3. Enhancing and modernising existing capabilities.


Job Description

To facilitate these objectives, ASD has a requirement for multiple Project Support Officers. We seek a Project Support Officer with a proven history of working in complex projects and contributing to the organisational capability within the project.

The Project Support Officer will work under general direction to assist several team leads in delivering the Project by providing effective administration, procurement, and finance support to technical projects. Responsibilities include:

* Maintaining Risk Registers, Stakeholder Matrix, and management of Program and Project artefacts within the team.
* Providing support services to projects, using and recommending project control solutions for planning, scheduling, and tracking projects while supporting programme or project control boards, project assurance teams, and quality review meetings.
* Working cohesively and communicating effectively with other project team staff and stakeholder groups.

Requirements

SFIA Professional Skill Level Description

PROF 3: Uses recommended portfolio, programme, and project control solutions for planning, scheduling, and tracking. Sets up project files, compiles, and distributes reports. Provides administrative services to project boards, project assurance teams, and quality review meetings. Provides guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools, and techniques.

Every application requires addressing selection criteria as part of the application submission:

* Knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
* Demonstrated Project Officer Competencies within the ICT field.
* Experience with the Commonwealth complex procurement process, including the tendering process and managing contracts, is desirable.
* Maintain program and project Risk Registers under general direction; including regular reviews and updates; advising team members if they have been nominated to execute risk treatment; and facilitating project risk workshops.
* Maintain project documentation under general direction including the establishment of a document library and control methods for finalised project documents. Ensure that all final documents meet audit requirements and are easily retrievable.
* Implement stakeholder communication plans under general direction, enhancing customer and stakeholder relationships.
* Provide administration support including schedule maintenance, monthly reporting, and resource management.
* Provide general administrative support including management of project record-keeping requirements and systems; secretariat support for project meetings and forums and other communications.
* Provide office and administrative support to the Program Office.
* Edit technical and project-related documents under general direction, and publish documents on the intranet.
