Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a Post Graduate Fellow to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Provide high quality clinical care, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Intensive Care at the level of a Post Graduate Fellow, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Intensive Care Department and RPA Hospital as required.
* Maintain standards of professional performance and contribute to an academic environment supporting education, research and professional development.
* Safely and efficiently manage the patients under the care of the Intensive Care Department.
* Supervise Trainees, Advanced Trainees, Junior Registrars and SRMOs, and communicate efficiently with nursing staff, allied health members and relevant admitting teams.
* Be rostered on the Intensive Care Specialist roster with appropriate supervision and serve as the first point of contact for other departments and primary care teams who wish to consult with the Intensive Care Service.
* Provide teaching, education, rostering and other non‐clinical and quality tasks under the direction of the Head of Intensive Care.
* Support other hospitals within the LHD and rural areas as part of the State‐wide Critical Care Tertiary referral network.
Qualifications
* Current medical practitioner, registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM) with recognised qualifications in Intensive Care Medicine and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
* Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship prior to, or within three months of the expected commencement date, may be considered.
* Proof of current immunity status that complies with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy.
Conditions & Benefits
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
