* Role Title: Cisco SDWAN Engineer
* Duration: 6 month Assignment until June 2026 + Possibility of extension
* Location: Melbourne
Green Light Worldwide has a requirement with our client partner for a Cisco SDWAN Engineer to join their team for an initial 6‑month engagement, with a possibility of extension. As a Network Engineer, you bring hands‑on experience with Cisco SD‑WAN solutions, focusing on the design, deployment, and support of enterprise networks. You will be solving technical challenges, applying security best practices, and working within structured change‑management processes. You are committed to continuous learning and can translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Design & Deployment: Participate in the design, implementation, and optimization of Cisco SD‑WAN solutions, including integration with existing network and cloud environments.
* Technical Problem Solving : Troubleshoot and resolve SD‑WAN issues, supporting high network availability and performance.
* Network Security: Apply network security best practices in SD‑WAN design and operations, including segmentation, encryption, and integration with security frameworks.
* Change Management : Follow structured change‑management processes to ensure network changes are planned, documented, and implemented with minimal risk.
* SSE Integration (Desirable): Support or participate in projects that integrate SD‑WAN with Secure Service Edge (SSE) technologies, such as those from Palo Alto, Zscaler, Netskope, and Fortinet.
* Collaboration : Work with internal teams and clients to gather requirements, develop designs, and communicate technical solutions.
* Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on SD‑WAN and related technologies and contribute ideas for technical enhancements.
* Risk Assessment : Identify and help mitigate technical risks in SD‑WAN deployments.
* Documentation : Prepare technical documentation to support ongoing operations and knowledge sharing.
Skills & Experience
* Cisco SD‑WAN Experience : Practical experience with Cisco SD‑WAN (Viptela and Catalyst), including deployment, configuration, and integration with cloud environments.
* Networking & Security : Good understanding of routing, switching, IP protocols, WAN optimization, and network security best practices.
* Change Management : Familiarity with formal change‑management processes for network environments.
* SSE Technologies (Desirable) : Exposure to integrating SD‑WAN with Secure Service Edge (SSE) platforms, especially Cisco, Palo Alto, Zscaler, Netskope, and Fortinet, is highly regarded.
* Automation & Orchestration : Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python) for SD‑WAN configuration and management.
* Cloud Networking : Experience integrating SD‑WAN with public cloud providers and managing hybrid connectivity.
* Communication : Able to clearly explain technical concepts and solutions.
* Project Delivery : Ability to manage multiple technical tasks and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
* Certifications : Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, Cisco SD‑WAN Specialist, or equivalent practical experience are highly regarded.
